Denali is a one of a kind dog who has loved a life of adventure and sharing a deep bond
with her humans. People who meet her are surprised to learn of her age – she still has a
lot of spunk and speed when chasing after a ball in the park! Denali enjoys walks in the
neighborhood, finding all the pinecones at a campsite, rolling around in the snow, and
licking the last of your vanilla milkshake, but most of all she loves to play fetch with you.
Denali has done it all – hiking 14ers, camping, biking and backcountry skiing. As she
ages while her body doesn’t quite keep up with that intensity of activities, her spirit
does.

She knows many commands, never strays far when off leash, and is good with other
dogs and cats. Once warmed up to you Denali is cuddly and adores getting scratchies
on her chest, legs and tummy. She enjoys laying on furniture when invited. At night, she
likes to share the room with her owners and just enjoys being in the same room as her
people.

Denali would thrive in a moderately-active household without small children (teens
okay), ideally with a yard, and responds best to calm, confident owners. New people or
dogs are best introduced when Denali can freely investigate them as she does have
some barrier anxiety (like when held back on a leash or across a baby gate) . She does
have a habit to pull on a leash a bit (less with age) and obsess over tennis balls &
sticks, but understands that playtime is over when toys are put away (just say “no more”
or “go lay down”). Denali is a quick eater (slow feeder needed) and can bark out of
protective instinct at the occasional delivery driver. Denali is a good in the care, at the
vet and is loved by the staff at her boarding kennel. She was crate trained and could
probably use a refresher on that if a crate is ever needed.

Denali is Colorado dog through and through, lover girl and sweetheart. She needs an
environment in which she can thrive and feel safe as she lives the last years of her life.
She will make any family wonderfully happy and she deserves all the love and attention
in the world.
