Adopting from Old Soul

Senior dogs have an adoption rate of only 25%. Old Soul helps increase that rate by moving dogs out of shelters and into loving homes – by partnering with Old Soul in adopting a senior dog, you are literally saving their life!

Do you offer a trial period to ensure that the dog is the right fit for my home?

We do! Our Senior Sleepovers program allows you to take home your selected dog(s) for an overnight or weekend trial.

How much does it cost to adopt from Old Soul?

Our adoption fees are determined on a case by case basis. We also offer discounts for our Foster Friends.

How does Old Soul prepare dogs for adoption?

We invest in our dogs’ wellbeing by partnering with loving Foster Friends who give our seniors comfortable temporary homes. Old Soul also provides food, enrichment, and medical attention to ensure our dogs are receiving the best care while waiting for their furever homes.

How do I help my senior dog acclimate when I bring them home?

Old Soul utilizes and recommends the 3-3-3 Rule – this Rule emphasizes the need for patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as your newly adopted dog adjusts to its new environment and builds trust with its family.

What kind of support will I receive from Old Soul following my adoption?

To set your adoption up for success, we provide check-ins at 1 week, 30 days, and 3 months, and will always be a resource for our Forever Families!

Give an Old Dog a Forever Home

Thank you for your interest in supporting Old Soul’s mission through adopting!

“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”
